Act 48

All questions regarding Act 48 can be referred to:

Professional Development programs are planned and approved by the Office of Catholic Education (OCE).  The following are not processed through the OCE.

  • Act 48 hours for college credits or for outside organizations.
  • Act 48 hours based on certificates provided by other entities.
  • Act 48 for faculty meetings, book reviews, sharing sessions or presentations of commercial products.

 


Requirements

  • Professional Development content must be related to the teacher’s areas of certification or area of current assignment.
  • Sessions must be a minimum of three hours or related content
    • Registration on Coursewhere is completed at least 2 business days prior to the session.
    • Participant attends the complete session – registration sheet must be signed.
    • Completion of the online survey of program satisfaction must be completed on Courseware within 21 days of program completion.  This is not the same as the program evaluation.

Please Note:  Surveys can be accessed by clicking the evaluation link on the main page of Coursewhere and should be completed within 21 days of program completion.  This is not the same as the evaluation survey form above.  You do not need to receive an email in order to complete the survey.  We can not be responsible for incorrect or misdirected emails.

  • Teachers are required to complete the form based on the Danielson Framework.  This is to be submitted to  the principal for the teacher’s Professional Development file.
  • All discrepancies with Act 48 reporting must be reported to OCE within 60 days.
